Think it, Be it: The True Power Behind Positive Thinking

Our thoughts are the most powerful tools we have.  The mind is infinitely powerful in its ability to heal and to manifest all our dreams.  Mind over matter is the use of willpower and positive thinking to overcome obstacles.  It’s much simpler than most think but that does not discount the very real power behind it.  Repetitive habitual positive thinking can lead to real tried and true results.

In the latter part of the 20th Century scientists began to recognize the ability of the brain to adapt and change.  They coined this ability neuroplasticity.  Neuroplasticity is an umbrella term referring to the ability of your brain to reorganize itself, both physically and functionally, throughout your life due to your environment, behavior, thinking, and emotions[1].  Neuroplasticity is a fancy, long scientific word that at its core means the same as mind over matter.

Many suffer from repetitive negative thinking.  In their minds, they’re in a hole incapable of coming out.  They believe that they were hardwired this way and that there’s nothing that can be done to crawl out. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.  Negative thinking can manifest in depression, addiction, lack of drive, etc.  Remember, the brain is infinitely capable of change beyond our comprehension.  The positive change starts when you put the idea in your head that you can overcome.  This gets neurons firing away like crazy rewiring the brain to the new desired outcome you perceive.  If you want to be happy imagine yourself infinitely happy.  Wake up every day and tell yourself that you have 24 new hours to do everything you want.  Little steps like this are the building blocks of chance.

Our perception determines our reality.  Keep thinking positive and you’ll be positive.  You can beat anything and be anyone you want to be.  It all starts with positive thinking and mind over matter, your brains neuroplasticity will take care of the rest.
